The Pavilion features for VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center patients:
- A single point of care for cancer and hematology services
- Hematology, medical, surgical and radiation oncology clinics with shared spaces to support multidisciplinary collaboration and cutting-edge clinical trials
(Note: Massey’s Cellular Immunotherapies and Transplant Clinic will remain in North Hospital) - Advanced radiation technologies:
- The only MRI-guided radiotherapy in the Mid-Atlantic – the blending of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) technology into a linear accelerator (the machine that is commonly used to deliver external beam radiation treatments for cancer) allows real-time treatment tailoring to ensure direct targeting of the disease site, thereby protecting surrounding organs and tissue from radiation in a very precise manner
- A brachytherapy suite with enhanced image guidance equipment, including ultrasound, CT (computed tomography) and MRI capabilities and PET-CT (positron emission tomography-CT) simulators to further enhance treatment efficacy and provide important research opportunities to improve treatment outcomes
- An infusion treatment floor with double the number of infusion chairs than VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center currently has downtown
- Laboratory, diagnostic and imaging services all in one building
- Massey-only entrance, elevators and lobby with comfortable, spacious waiting areas
- Thoughtful amenities and support services, including café, retail pharmacy, wig salon, medical legal partnership providing free legal counseling, patient resource library, integrative health suite offering complementary therapies, nutrition counseling, social work, genetic counseling, rehabilitation (including physical, occupational and speech therapy), palliative care and survivorship care
- Family centered, friendly, advanced care
- More than 1,000 patient parking spaces
- Easy access from major interstates
