Training and learning opportunities for research and clinical faculty

VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center’s interdisciplinary research programs, which include Cancer Cell Signaling, Cancer Molecular Genetics, Cancer Prevention and Control, and Developmental Therapeutics, hold monthly meetings in which the research members present their work to their peers. These meetings also allow faculty to present their grant proposals or critiques of their proposals for insightful guidance and direction. These efforts have been highly successful in facilitating junior faculty to obtain extramural funding.

Visit Massey’s Research events calendar for research program meeting dates and topics.

In addition, Massey actively partners with the VCU C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research, which offers mentoring resources, to train junior VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center research members.

Palliative care training

As a pioneer in palliative care, VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center is training the next generation of palliative care specialists. Massey’s palliative care program offers clinical training for practicing health care professionals through the Palliative Care Leadership Center and the Virginia Initiative for Palliative Care. Our palliative care program is the first and only palliative care program in Virginia and one of only two dozen in the nation to receive accreditation and certification by the Joint Commission.
