Events during COVID-19
We are extremely grateful for the significant financial support and awareness of VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center’s research, education and patient care that is brought through community partner events.
As leaders in public health and the community’s largest employers, Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health have a special role to play in slowing the transmission of COVID-19, stewarding health care resources and protecting vulnerable members of the community. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, and due to our unique position in the community as a health care provider and our responsibility to act with an abundance of care, VCU’s leadership has restricted in-person events hosted/promoted by VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center for the foreseeable future.
While we cannot determine whether our community partners continue with fundraising events, if a community partner does decide to continue with their event/activity in support of Massey, Massey Development staff participation will be determined by VCU guidelines, and employees may be unable to participate in in-person meetings or events.

If a community partner decides to cancel or postpone the in-person component of their effort but still continues to fundraise, the Massey Development team can help provide other fundraising alternatives.
