About the Closing the Gap Summit meetings
Initially launched in 2022, Massey’s Closing the Gap Summit meetings bring community members together with scientific investigators and clinicians as they define and discuss critical issues related to cancer that are of top priority to the community. Held throughout the year, each Summit meeting will focus on one of Massey’s four priority cancers - breast, lung, gastrointestinal (GI), and prostate.
Each summit welcomes researchers, clinicians, health professionals, community leaders, patient advocates, and students and trainees to engage with one another and explore exciting new directions in cancer research. Following each summit, attendees are invited to apply for pilot research project funding stemming from event discussions and engagement with the community.
