HEDR supports a wide array of cancer health equity and disparities research including community engagement in research, intervention development and implementation research in cancer. Services include the following:
Research study participant recruitment and retention
- Coordinate recruitment and retention strategies
- Promote research using culturally-appropriate recruitment strategies
- Support eligibility screening and consent study participants
Development of culturally and linguistically competent study materials (Spanish)
- Coordinate translation of study materials into Spanish for linguistic appropriateness
- Support field testing validation of study materials into Spanish for cultural and linguistic relevance
- Inform tailored promotional and other study materials
Data management
- Support the development and maintenance of new projects using REDCap for study specific data collection and e-consenting
Evaluation
- Support project feedback and evaluation
- Support project summary reports
Study implementation
- Assist partners with best practices for conducting community engagement research
- Coordinate study activities and data collection
- Support the development of intervention tools related to community engagement research
Regulatory management
- Manage protocol post-Protocol Review Monitoring Committee and Institutional Review Board approval
- Support study team members and operations
- Support study enrollment and progress
- Facilitate study related trainings and meetings
- Support the creation of study reports
- Support participant incentive disbursement and tracking
- Support general organization and logistic planning for the project
- Facilitate the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
